Advice for guardians and teachers
Put Us in the Picture is an educational website developed by Sightsavers Ireland to teach primary school children about disability inclusion, the Global Goals and Ireland’s overseas development aid programme and inclusive education to children. The website is ideally suited to children aged 7 years to 13 years, however the website is suitable for all ages and we believe that children of all ages and abilities will learn something new and enjoy the site.
About this site: Welcome to Sightsavers Ireland’s Put Us in the Picture disability inclusion website. This website is designed to guide children through a journey of learning. The topics we cover are disability inclusion, the Global Goals, how important school is, and Ireland’s overseas development aid programme. This interactive website is designed for primary school children, along with our in-person workshop (usually delivered in schools), which uses animations and games to further learning on inclusion, empathy building and international development.
Through animated workshops children can become a “Sightsavers Ireland Disability Champion” and continue their learning through fun interactive activities.
This website also links directly to your current schoolwork relating to geography, history and SPHE.

More from Sightsavers: Enjoying the website? We have more resources for children which you can download here, including all our in-classroom resources, so discussions about disability inclusion, the Global Goals and Ireland’s overseas development aid programme can continue in class or at home.
We also run an annual art competition, The Junior Painter of the Year Award, under the theme of ‘disability inclusion and the Global Goals’. You can download an entry form here. Each year we ask primary school children around Ireland to draw, paint or create a piece of artwork that depicts what an inclusive world looks like to them. You can read more about The Junior Painter of the Year Award here.
